Financial Aid at St. Stephen’s
At St. Stephen’s, we believe that our school is enriched by our community of people who come from all economic backgrounds. We make every effort to allow talented, motivated students to have the opportunity to receive a St. Stephen's education, regardless of cost. In order to ensure that every qualified candidate is considered, financial aid decisions are made subsequent to, and separately from, admission decisions.
All financial assistance at St. Stephen's is based on family need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee, which relies primarily on the analysis provided by the School and Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), as well as by St. Stephen's availability of funds as approved annually by the Board of Trustees.
The policy of the school and FAST is that parents should finance their children's education to the extent that they are able. Therefore, all families receiving financial aid at St. Stephen's make some contribution toward the total cost of tuition. We believe this monetary contribution strengthens the necessary partnership between home and school that we value so highly.
Financial Aid Process
The FAST program provides a need-based financial aid analysis service that includes an income verification process. All information from FAST remains confidential and is reviewed by the school. After applying, you will mail tax documents to FAST for income verification purposes. You must apply for financial aid each year during the reenrollment period, using the online FAST application. On the application, please use your name as it appears on your tax return.
The online application process is self-guided. You can partially complete an application and go back to it another time, if you don’t want to complete the application in one sitting.
Effective November 1, 2016, the FAST application fee will increase to $43 US. The application fee is non-refundable and payable by MasterCard, Visa, or American Express.
FAST notifies parents of the fee on the Instructions page of the application and also in a payment confirmation e-mail, which states the fee is $43, non-refundable, and charged as 'Independent School Management'.

In addition to direct financial aid, we also offer a monthly tuition payment option that is administered by our Business Office. It allows families to pay educational expenses in convenient monthly installments.
The deadline for Financial Aid is January 15, 2017 for current families.
