Our day school will gather on Wednesday, September 21 at 8:30 a.m. to observe International Day of Peace and Celebrate Holy Eucharist. The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the Day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.
The United Nations invites all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace. For more info, visit click here.
In this spirit, we will sign the Resolution of Respect, as we continue to maintain our No Place for HateTM status on campus. As a part of our Peace Day celebration we are taking part virtually in the UNITY Project.
“The UNITY project is a response to the divisiveness we’re seeing around the world.” Nancy Belmont created the UNITY project as a community project.
Please join us in taking the UNITY project survey. Go to the link at UNITY Project Survey. Join in and look at the responses from others to see what a wonderful diverse world we live in. We also hope to see you Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. in chapel. Peace be with you.
